When patients seemed overwhelmed by the quantity of information you’re providing in patient education handouts, help them focus by using a highlighter. As you discuss with your learners the key content they need to understand and remember, highlight it on the handouts. This will help them retain the information, find it quickly when they need a refresher at home.
